The Royal hotel is an elegant 19th century hotel having been constructed in the year of 1890. Possessing a checkered past, the hotel has been a Victorian school, Royal Air Force convalescent home, hotel on several occasions, Second World War Communications Centre and Victorian spa baths to name but a few.
Being a Victorian hotel, there are 72 bedrooms, which vary in size, shape and views. All rooms feature a colour TV, direct dial telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. All are en-suite with bath and shower or shower room only. There are 10 standard bedrooms located on the ground floor, being a combination of doubles, twins and one family room. Please note these rooms are not suitable for wheelchair bound users. There are 2 steps to negotiate on the ground floor bedroom corridor. The hotel lift provides access to 50 hotel rooms on the first and second floors.
The Bollywood Bar and Grill restaurant offers a contemporary authentic Indian menu of the finest cuisine, Sizzler dishes are a house speciality. Known locally as the best authentic Indian restaurant in Skegness. The Bollywood features bistro style service, its own self-contained bar and shows Indian films and Television programmes throughout the evening, but for those who want to stay with the more traditional menu the hotel has the English Bistro Grill & Steak Restaurant.
The Colonial Lounge and Bar is a relaxing lounge area with its own bar, located between hotel reception and the Royal Garden Suite function room, with the lounge overlooking the seaside gardens, a perfect location for morning coffee, lunchtime gatherings or glass of wine after hard day of beach walks or exploration of the Lincolnshire area.
